KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo is looking for volunteers to assist at Art on the Mall on Saturday, June 5th, and at Concerts in the Parks Sunday, June 6th.
With Art on the Mall set to kick off Friday, June 4th, volunteers are being sought for many roles to support the weekend activities from setting up to cleaning up, greeting guests, distributing information and much more.
Art on the Mall begins Friday, June 4th, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., and is one of many events being hosted by the Arts Council as part of Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership’s Jumpstart Weekend. On Saturday, Art on the Mall will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Volunteers are needed Saturday to assist at the information booth and to help break down artists tents at the end of the event.
On Sunday, June 6th, the Arts Council will host its first performance in its Concerts in the Park series with local alternative Latin rock collective Cabildo taking the stage in Bronson Park at 4 p.m. Volunteer roles include helping with set-up and clean-up, greeting guests, distributing information, and more.
In the case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the First Baptist Church adjacent to the park at 315 West Michigan Avenue.
